NFRS Portsmouth Show - Orrin is now a silver champion and a Caledonian kitten wins Best Opposite Age.

Last weekend was my local Portsmouth Show, it's so nice not to have to get up really early and then drive for 2 hours to get to a show. My rats did me proud, Caledonian Orrin managed to hold off all his offspring in the shaded section and win not only Siamese Adult, but also Best Siamese and Best Shaded, he also got 1 star making a total now of 8 stars and therefore a Silver Champion and the second Silver Champion I've bred.

The black doe from Rona's litter, won Black kitten and also Best Black, Best Self Kitten and came second in the Self Challenge to the eventual Best In Show.

The Best Opposite Age was won by one of the Russian Blue kittens from Rona's litter who belongs to Lindy Seymour, making the second Best Opposite Age for a Caledonian rat this year.

Portsmouth Show also meant saying goodbye to 6 kittens, all of which I'm sure will be totally spoilt in their new homes.

About Me

My name is Lois and I have a small rattery based in Southampton, Hampshire, UK. My aim is to breed good tempered, healthy rats in Russian Blue Point Siamese, Seal Point Siamese and Black for both pet and show. I am a member of the NFRS, and tend to show my rats at NFRS shows in the south and south west. I am also a NFRS Show Secretary and a member of the NFRS Committee with the roles of Hon. Treasurer and Website and Forum Administrator. Caledonian Rats is not an NFRS stud name, but simply a name I used to identify the rats I breed. However, 'Caledonian Rattery' is an NFRS registered rattery and I hope to gain my stud name in the future.
